Essex Fox Hounds Thanksgiving Hunt
Essex Foxhounds hunt club in Peapack, NJ has a tradition of holding a hunt each year on Thanksgiving (apparently started, or at least continued, when Jackie Kennedy Onassis was a participant). This year I wandered out to watch and photograph the festivities.
I was awe-struck by the number of people who came out to watch the hunters set off. I never imagined that so many in the community would come out on a rainy Thursday to watch, but they did…in droves. Several hundred spectators of all ages stood in the drizzle (which gradually made its way to snow by the time hunters and hounds set off ) to see the hounds, horses and riders. A few images below, and more are available to view (and purchase) in my gallery under “All Galleries -> Hunt Clubs -> Essex Fox Hounds” (or directly at http://gallery.stephencrowersphotography.com/efh).
