Digital Downloads
I’ve been considering adding digital files to my offerings for a while now and my host finally has added support for sales and downloads of them.
I’ve currently setup the gallery containing select images from the June 2008 Penn-Jersey Show at the Bucks County Horse Park to allow for the purchase of digital images for personal website use. These images are sized to low-resolution (maximum dimension of 800 pixels – which is nearly the full width of many web pages), however are not sufficient for printing beyond wallet-size. Discounts are available for images that are also purchased as physical prints.
Also, I now include free (though tastefully watermarked), personal-use-only, web-resolution digital files of all images purchased as 8×10 or larger prints when booking me for portrait sessions. This gives my customers a fully retouched image for their personal website, Facebook MySpace, etc. – while keeping them legal with respect to copyright…and more importantly, I can ensure that they (and I) look their best.
