The show last weekend at the BCHP was a lot of fun and I pulled off a few nice shots as well. I’m always impressed by the western classes – there were many flashy riders and beautiful horses there.
I had forgotten how much work a full show can be. …One may ask just how much work it could be – all you do is stand around and press the shutter button, right? Believe me – 8 hours of walking around the ring, squatting for that great angle, back up again to walk over near a different jump and grab another shot – all the while making sure you keep track of exactly where the horse and rider are (you do NOT want to end up standing in front of the jump the horse is going over next!). By Monday, I was taking the elevator on standing orders from my thighs (note to self: get back to the gym and start working those squats).
